Venice is a popular city for tourist weddings. In recent years, it has become a magnet for Japanese couples, many of whom have a romantic destination wedding in Venice and another, larger ceremony for friends and family at home.

Today, Cheryl was getting off the No. 2 vaporetto at San Marco Vallaresso when she noticed a Japanese couple in wedding clothes disembarking ahead of her with a photographer and a videographer in tow. She followed the bride and groom past the tourist office and the former Royal Gardens to a gondola basin, where they posed for wedding pictures as tourists and locals walked by.
