Today's newspaper headlines announced the heat-related deaths of two elderly people in the region: a bicyclist and a tourist on the beach.
By creepy coincidence, we saw a body bag in a cardboard coffin as we walked past a funeral parlor in Venice this morning:

I just noticed the funeral parlour is for 'green' or ecological funerals. Before my imagination totally runs wild, what does that involve!

I'm not sure what a "green" funeral is either. No elbalming fluid? Or maybe composting?
